High end signal splitters (for A4)?

hey,

I want to send the output of the A4 to several places.

Is there a device where i can plug the stereo in and get 2 stereo outs?

I want to send stereo to OT and also a mono signal to an SSL X-desk

thank you!!

if you don’t want to do this passively ( ‘Y’ cables ) then you need a Distribution Amplifier basically. Plenty around - Sonifex, ART, maybe Samson do one…?

nice!

any high end, as im routing into ssl…

An additional amplifier actually could reduce sound quality and as the A4’s outputs are balanced already I’d simply suggest a better patch bay using TRS cables. As long as you’d only need to split it once. Otherwise I’d suggest using a quality submixer with enough AUX sends and/or sub channels.

If routing flexibility and price are not issues, there are professional signal splitters by drawmer etc… just note the A4’s balanced outputs, makes it easier to install in such an environment.

Drawmer & Rane are better quality ones …they’re used a lot in radio / broadcast studios which often need lots of copies of the PGM output. But it’s possibly over kill as you’re probably going to be paying for at least 6 x L/R splits … & you only want 2.

I’d agree - a passive split is probably fine if you’re only splitting it once. Not sure about a sub mixer though as you’ve got a whole new gain structure added in - whereas a DA will just replicate what you put in unless you start mucking about with the trim levels.

great!

what im considering also is hacking into the headphone output and bypass the amp, but i dont want a summed signal, only left or right…

You have direct out on each channel on the x-desk…could you use that somehow?
