I’m trying to isolate what changed here, thanks for any ideas.
Updated Analog Rytm MK1 from OS 1.45 to 1.50A, and now the playback of my patterns on CH9 and OH10 sound different. I have a 16th note pattern running on CH9 and a 1/4 pattern running on OH10 with some random trigs. Prior to the update, when both tracks were playing, I was hearing a good mix of both tracks, with OH10 choking CH9 but CH9 still fairly audible. After the update, I’m not hearing CH9 at all when both tracks are playing.
I’ve confirmed:
“Synth” setting is ON for both tracks
Both tracks are unmuted - if I mute either one I can hear the other one fine
Thanks in advance for any ideas of what’s going on here!
There is one voice making circuit here and it’s monophonic, so if you are hearing 10 play you simply can’t hear 9 play, that’s not possible … you may get the impression based on the sounds or echoes via delay or whatever, but it is impossible for 9 to ever use the shared voice and make a sound when 10 is using the voice circuit
it may sound naturalistic, like variations whilst switching between open/closed hi-hat, but i can assure you you weren’t hearing both tracks make sound simultaneously before or after the update because they can’t do that
same goes for 3/4 7/8 11/12, if the higher numbered track is trigging it will take priority of the shared voice
quite why it seemed different i am not sure, but it certainly wasn’t that 9 was audible simultaneously, maybe different sound design across both tracks in a shared voice pair makes the change less obvious
hi comma,
could it be that you had some micro timing moving 10 late, or 9 early? that could have let the engine pick up the attack of 9.
Although I haven’t heard of the OS upgrade affecting saved micro timing info.
This together with global quantize?
I noticed recently, after a lot of swearing, that the global quantize function (and maybe track quantize too, didn’t try) quantizes micro timed trig’s…
And maybe this setting changed with the update
Global quantize would affect this, yes.
Hold one of your track 10 trigs and press arrow-right. That should reveal a little bit of your track 9 sound if they share a trig location.
