You’re not alone.
The trig buttons and their LEDs combined with the ability to hold those buttons and instantly see and adjust P-lock data on that step is a beautiful system which, for me, rivals the DAW system of working in a simple and elegant way which no other hardware sequencer I’ve tried came anywhere close to but working with numbers other than four loses the speed and fluidity you normally have with that system.
It sucks a lot of the fun out of it and becomes a chore as you just can’t visualize the pattern in the same way.
