Hi! Would be really grateful if more experienced users than me could take the time and help me out a bit. I have the Octa for a while but I always made just a few nice loops with it and never when beyond to turn it into a fluid live tool.
How does one go about using the Octatrack as a hub/foundation for a live act. I would love to be able to go for a few hours and have variation but I seem to get stuck after a half hour.
Currently I’m using the Octatrack with 7 tracks for sample playback (kick, snare/clap, hat/cymbal, bassline, tom, sfx 1, sfx 2) + the 8th as a master so I can crossfade some ind. tracks controls + master fx at the same time.
I also send midi to a Nord Drum 1 with program change (have to change parts unfortunately to change program as I don’t know another way).
The Nord Drum sounds I transform using a outboard pair consisting of a analog filter and delay so I got that part covered.
I also have a Rytm, Tanzbar and OP-1 and I would like at least to integrate one of the drum machines and the OP-1.
I think I’m using the Octatrack wrong in this combination as I can’t seem to get more variations and the set get stale after a while. What kind of approach should I take with it? How do I get the most variation from a Octatrack without switching projects?
