Help me to synthesis this drone/pad

Hey Folks,

Anyone here could tell me how to get this sound so deep (drone / texture in background)?

I have been looking for a long time to reproduce something in the same style of pad / atmos / drone.

I do not know if this is possible with my A4. I tried the chords, several oscillators, do multi processing with inputs from my OT to apply several FX.

Nothing I can do.

Can anybody bring me closer to this?

I didn’t get to program a sound on my A4 yet as I only had limited time with it BUT.
Try square/saw, LPF, LFO sync to filter cutoff (small amount) and play with detuning.
Also that pad/drone in the background is a chord for sure.

This track sounds beautiful. You’re not overlooking the need for a cavernous reverb with some subtle modulating delay, right? I’m hearing what sounds like a basic digital patch that is being sent through space. :rocket:

Definitely has a reverb on top and possibly small chorus as it’s modulating nicely.

Varg is using an Eventide space, I’m sure.

But I do not know what source it uses to make this sound.

I know the reverb is for many here. But even with a lot of reverb I can not.

I’d rather say a lot of chorus, right?

A lot of chorus would make it very metallic and phase difference would be very audible.
In this case it just beefs it up with subtle modulation.

I’ll hook my eventides to A4 tonight and give it a shot.
It doesn’t sound too hard though the subtle stuff seems tricky.

The subtle bell tones sound like they could be FM as well.

The underlying sound is something like this.
The rest is surely FM weirdness.
In this case I used Blofeld as I have no idea how to navigate the A4 yet BUT.
1OSC - Resonant wavetable
2OSC Saw / Semitone -7
3OSC Saw / Detune +9
All oscillators on same octave.
LPF with a bit of resonance.
LFO (TRI) on cutoff in small amount.
It’s a chord which gives that “moving” texture to the whole thing as keytrack is set to 100 on all osc.

Also that thing sounds quite mono to me and slightly detuned.
At 13seconds I turn on Space and that’s when you can hear modulation come to life.

**on my soundcloud I posted few examples of Blofeld playing with Eventide Space & TimeFactor. No other synths used and all demos are single patch playing and modulating.
If you know how “dry” Blofeld sounds this should give you a pretty good idea what good FX does to sound

Later on it sounds like there is a long/frozen shimmer/blackhole in parallel too.
