Help me find what’s in my mind

I have been looking for a certain type of synth heavy, guitar and drums bands.
I just fell down a rabbit hole going through Ozric Tentacles albums. While I enjoy and respect the musicianship, it’s way to prog rock for my taste.
I’m looking for a darker, more dystopian sound. Not necessarily “electronic” in nature.
I’d love to hear suggestions on bands to look up.

KMFDM

The forum won’t let me just post that because it doesn’t think it’s a complete sentence…I guess that is accurate. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Different albums give you the choice of how electronic leaning you want to go too

ie Angst more guitar based, symbols more electronic
Nihil a great middle ground of both and not so “electronic” sounding

/ heavy use of various synths throught

Not exactly sure what you are looking for but curious to find out what gets brought up

Maybe try the faint

Maybeeeeee industrial metal stuff? The soundtrack world is filled with that kind of stuff. I recommend Doom’s (2016) Soundtrack, as well as the recent Ninja Turtles film.

Or maybe softer, emo stuff like Imagery by Sound?

Hopefully some of this helps

definitely not what you’re after, but i think a version of this with an acoustic kit and guitars in a secret chiefs 3 stylee would be immense.

Neu?

Beak?

I really like some of the suggestions here! Thank you all.
In beginning my search, I didn’t realize how much “metal” music utilized synths. I just haven’t spent much time outside of “electronic” genres. I’m going to post a few of my findings here.

There are 2 versions of the album, one being instrumental.
