Look up gated reverb. This will insta-80fy your kick/snare/x. Add any FM-synth and some pitched down elevator music and there you go.
TR707, all manner of Linndrum, Kawai R100, etc can work for this genre. Period correct compression esthetic is also important if you’re after authenticity.

a 505 will get you there too, but for around £100. Love mine.
