Hi!
I need your help, I have tried to search the forum and google it but no luck.
Trying to learn my new Octatrack I poked around different settings and suddenly this just happened.
When I press play everything starts fading in, both in volume and it sounds like a low-pass filter. Sounds almost like walking towards a club, volume raising and you only hear the low end at first. Everything is connected through the OT. When I press stop on the OT I can play normally on the A4 and blofeld, but as soon a I press play the volume/filter animation starts and it goes all quiet.
Does anyone have any idea on what I might have done?
I would love being able to control this and put it on my tracks but its kind of annoying when I don’t know what I have done or how to make it go away!
I recorded a simple vid to explain, audio is recorded straight from the OT headphone jack.
Grateful for any help/ advice!
Thanks!
welcome to the worm hole
you can go from fantastic to abysmal in the blink of an eye with the octa
and never be able to return
takes a very very methodical approach, which when jamming on the said piece
goes out the door quite easily
without listening imo your better off to move on.
someone more helpful should come along
right now I’m to busy, up to my ears with fixing
2 keyboard assemblies
good luck

Thank you for the advice. Yes maybe I’m just better off moving on right now. The OT indeed seems like a worm hole
Check fader scenes and any LFO or envelope on the Master track (if you have one). It’ll be something very simple.
Yep my first thought was LFO on the Master track too.
Alternative could be recorded automation on the Master track. Keep searching, you’ll find it

This behaviour is regardless of the fader position or active scene, the scene shifting is still happening behind all this fading going on.
Yes i use track 8 as master track but all LFO’s are turned down (i tried a bunch of different values on them but nothing changed).
I’m not able to find andy envelopes on the master track, but will keep on looking.
Thanks for the help!
Even so, try clearing the master track of all trigs and clearing all the parameter pages on it (hold parameter button and press clear) including the amp page. Try also a blank fader scene on the left and right. It has to be something related to these elements.
You probably already checked this but…If you are sequencing the other machines from the octatrack, did you maybe record some automations on the midi tracks?
