I never knew such a thing existed - that would have been handy!
It is. Had I known in advance, I would have never paid for the Kenton MIDI USB hub, which cost me 120 bucks for not working in this constellation due to inconsistent voltage ever since the Kenton has abandoned DC for power.
I was ‘lucky’ in that I already had one, so spending a tenner or so for a powered hub wasn’t too bad. The raspi has been better though, in that it’s one PSU for the two devices, as opposed to the two (or three-I forget) I had going with the Kenton in the setup. Just have to wait a minute on power up.
There is really no free lunch, it appears
Anyone got any ideas here?
I’ve got the WARBL2 on the latest firmware, with the Micro preset installed
I’ve installed the WARBL demo-presets on the Micro
I’ve got WIDI Uhost powered and with the host USB-C connected to the Mini connector on the Micro
The WIDI Uhost is on the latest firmware
I’m blowing air in
I’m on presets 10-14
Why am I hearing nothing from my (otherwise working) headphones?
Edit: Had to change Uhost’s BLE role in the WIDI app from “Force peripheral (To Computers)” to “Auto”.
It’s playing now and I’m getting results from all presets, though for whatever reason I’m only noting the two sensors closest to the mouthpiece responding? I’m a little tired, but I’d think the entire set would be responsive from loading the WARBL preset included in the latest Micro download.
What am I missing now ![]()
The Micro seems a bit “flat” even with the dedicated Warbl presets so perhaps I’m also missing the proper expressivity CCs or whatever in the Warbl (patch or config) somehow?
Hope I made a good decision in ordering the Micro. I plan on using it with a NuRAD and possibly an Apple watch with Midi Motion for additional CC controls. I already have the CME-WIDI Uhost. I’m assuming that it should not be too difficult to get up and running.
