Granular technique on Octatrack

Anyone already did something similar??

Bunch of tracks all pointing to the same sample slot. Different rate settings for each track and all set to loop a very tiny amount of the sample in AED.

Then you can scrub through the sample using the start pos knob.

Each track has the same loop start/end settings in real-time.

Kind of a granular synth with up to 8 grains?

Will upload a demo recording if you want later on

Edit: Longer version of the video (Oops girlfriend and little kid talking  )

Okaaaay quick demo.

Bit of sequencing and some reverb on master, but that’s it.

Also on multiple tracks at the same time?

On the soundcloud yes, iirc. Maybe 8-10 years ago !

Same sample slot trimmed and played on different tracks. Maybe 4 tracks ?

Can be interesting to add lfo on start, pipo loop, control LEN (looped)…

Having Tempera I gave up with Octatrack granular quest, resampling with pitched feedback can help to fake additional grains…

Other example (from above thread)
(4 tracks with trim tweak)

Granular percussions (Elektron demo sample).

Principle : START defines the grain position, LEN (TIME mode) defines its length. I added an lfo on VOL matching LEN, in order to have fade in / fade out.

4 tracks, 4 instances of the sample with lfo on START.
At 2"30 I change TRIM Start / End values, it changes all instances trim.

Track 5 records and play CUE with feedback (CUE send), 1 octave up + reverb.

Comp + Delay on Master track.
