I had a good long look at myself in the mirror this morning and came to the conclusion that I’ve not contributed much to this forum so I thought I’d share one of my secrets of the Illuminati.
Over the years I’ve tried loads of different desk stands to elevate my Elektron boxes, and although many are decent, sometimes it can be load of hassle especially if you switch your gear around, and if your desk space is minimum.
I recently picked up an Analog Four MKII, and I really liked the slight elevation of the unit, and thought how can I achieve this with my OT, ST and DT??

For £6 (on Amazon) I picked up 5 x 30mm by 21mm diameter pine wood pieces of dowel. They are perfect and you can easily cut to size. If you sit the dowel under the back feet on any of the boxes, the weight of the unit holds everything in place and because pine is soft there are no scratches or anything. Another indispensable tip is to cut the dowel so it is hidden under the footprint of the unit, as it makes everything really clean and minimal. What more do you need?
I don’t know why I never thought of this. I’ve been propping up my Model 16 on blocks and it feels so unstable. Just got some 2.25” PVC cut at Home Depot for $4 and it is rock solid. Amazing life hack, thanks!
I had one of these erasers sat on an old Ikea laptop stand (the other classic cheap desktop propper-upper (which is now apparently discontinued )). Some kind of plastic on plastic reaction took place and the eraser fused itself onto the stand. I was able to pull it off but it left a scar. So beware putting them against other plastics!
If anyone can share a link to the device bitsnbobs listed or what to search for I would appreciate it. I’ve been looking for that type of thing for a long time as I need to be able to customize angles. That said, I have probably looked at 100s of things on amazon and never found it…maybe I’m just searching wrong but it would be so useful I’d pay $20-30 gladly
