So where the story starts is I was going to unplug the usb to computer thing and instead pulled the power when a pattern was playing, then when I turned it on it had this sound which I’m guessing is the same sound that was playing through that pattern. I cleared the pattern and the sound stopped, but anytime I play a pattern that was there before this happened the sound comes back until I clear it. New patterns aren’t affected for some weird reason and if I switch projects obviously it’s not an issue. But I do have a bunch of song ideas and almost full songs on that project so help would be appreciated
Wild guess: If reverb is set globally to a non-zero amount, it can make a horror-movie sound at the beginning of a pattern.
If you can be troubled to post a sound clip of the noise in question, I think that it will contribute immensely to the likelihood that your question is answered with the minimum of conjecturing.
Regarding the issue itself, if it’s confined to the project in question
My assumption is that the last snapshot of the pattern included whatever setting is causing the issue, and then when you plugged it back in after the “pull out affair” the pattern went back to whatever was stored in the snapshot / temporary memory (ie when you do func+yes to save or func+no to reload from temporary).
I’m guessing that you may have (after this) made a panic save at the project level as it can be jarring to have this sort of thing happen, so you start thinking “when was the last time that I saved?”, and at that point it was cemented into the project.
This is just a random semi-educated guess, it may not be accurate and I may be misreading your description, but either way the sound itself will be easier to identify if we can hear it.
ok so as I was going to take a video I pressed play and it wasn’t making the sound, and I initially thought that this time I turned it on and off it had fixed it. But then I realized that my prophet was also off… and that I didn’t power it off and on again, and I was using my digi to send midi to it and that when I unplugged it probably left the midi going lmao. And the clearing of patterns and the old patterns working was just because I had external audio turned up because obviously it’s off as default. Simple solution haha
That’s awesome though, good stuff man lol.
