Be careful. Check the price of a new one. If it’s less than 100€ or $ be sure it’s ok to not buy a new with the warranty and no risk of fake.

no idea ,he just wanted to be paid in cash , no receipt , thats all he said me, I didnt ask anything

ok mm i think I will go on more legit solution then,I have to be patient. seems
faster is not better in that case, thanks guys, it will be my first elektron products so cant wait to join the community

If he bought it new there’s no reason he shouldn’t have or be able to get hold of the receipt.

Paying in cash + no receipt are completely normal, but combined with the sealed box that makes it strange - I’d be asking plenty of questions and needing really convincing answers. If the price was particularly low I’d be especially suspicious.

Needless (?) to say, don’t walk away with a sealed box… That’s a known scam

yeah this is suspicious even if price was 'nt low, 1000 CAD .

Honestly the reality is that most people are actually just normal people. The chance of someone having an original box and a plastic wrapper, resealing it and coming to sell it to you face to face is, well a stretch at best. Personally I’m cautious but realistically it’s probably just a guy selling one. You only have any real security at all if you buy new

so how do you pay your synthesizers if you buy one? You always have 500-700 bucks with you? If not … there must be some kind of receipt…? I would buy this kind of stuff always online - but if not then with CC/debit. So that is actually legally the same as a
receipt in my country.

I don’t know why sellers need to say sealed just say mint / excellent. Meet up at a public place to switch cash and that’s it.

Everyone drives a used Elektron at the end of the day.

If only there were some sort of machine where one could withdraw cash. a cash-machine, so to speak

So you withdraw 1000 bucks and walk into a music store and pay cash? I would never ever do this - too anxious to get robbed.

I thought we were talking used, in which case I practically always pay cash

no I was talking about the other fishy guy who is selling…

I don‘t know where OP is from … but there was some looting a few days ago in some states / countries

Wouldn‘t want to have a stolen box and deal with the cops etc. pp. - you would lose box + cash in the worst case

But if the guy can show me a debit payment in his online banking for it at the music store … would seem legit to me… he can‘t? Wouldn‘t buy…

“he just wanted to be paid in cash , no receipt”

I read that as he wants cash and won’t give a receipt, rather than he doesn’t have a receipt from the original purchase. Still kinda shady though.
