Getting 909 kick to knock

Hey there. Wondering if you guys just drop in dry 909 kick samples into the DT and use the filters to get it knocking. Any tricks? New to all this.

Also I know you can’t layer but I’m guessing that’s a resampling from say, two kicks on different tracks?

Yeah I guess you could. If you’re not bothered about modulating any of those settings during use you could compress and eq the samples in a DAW or hardware before dropping them into the DT. You could drop in a few samples and sequence them from the sound pool for some ‘randomness’
