Get a Syntakt to replace Digitakt?

Hi all,

Might be GAS but really fancy pressing the button on a Syntakt.

In order to do that I’d have to relinquish another Elektron from the fold.

As my Octatrack 2 is now holding all sampling duties, do I need a DT?

I also have a DN but you know, there’s just so much more to go with that always.

So, sell DT and get ST (is that the abbreviation?) ?

If this is covered in another thread apologies.

Andrew

Might be worth looking here for some opinions

I know OT is perfectly capable as a drum machine, but I find DT indispensable for building patterns from one shots. I know OT can do it, but I just find it more capable with phrase samples, usually I’m sampling full patterns into the OT for further analysis and chopping.
Yes… I could resample oneshot patterns on the OT… but that’s a pain imho.
…upshot is I don’t think of OT as a replacement for DT. And I think a lot of Syntakt users are finding that it makes good food for both DT and OT. So that’s my take - I would keep both and feed them one shots and phrases respectively!! But I’m not getting an ST, so - grain of salt…
