I know a very weird guy that loves to use gpt in every aspect of his life. The guy become like a whole another person after it. I mean he generated an image and had it tatooed on him. It was like an elf ranger with a bow in his hand. but I mean - it’s was just your standard ai generated image. I really couldn’t believe my eyes but there he was showing me his freshly wrapped tattoo made pushed me (more of a forced me) to widen my perspective.
Thinking back then the guy clearly has personal issues that it’s not my place to diagnose / analyse it all. But I can clearly see that ai is enabling something in him. Whether good or bad it’s also questionable. I think that falls heavily on tech oligarchs responsibility as they’re the one who is providing such service. But again seeing him enthusiastic about something made me wonder.
idk, i’m very in between. I am disgusted that people are abusing miyazaki’s art style by restyling paparazzi political images (this is populist politisim to an such extreme level but that’s another discussion) but at the same time it’s enabling people to be creative that have certain blockers in their life that stops them being creative.
