Gear that won't go sticky!

In general I like the idea behind this thread, but a list the opposite way (gear that does get sticky) would make way more sense to me, because

  • a) let’s assume there’s maybe 5% of gear where the issue occurs, means you’d need to list 95% of all gear on the planet

  • b) related to a), there’s a ton of gear that’s utilizing materials which are out of question anyway. Like nobody would assume a let’s say Korg Volca would become sticky. So not too much sense in listing stuff like that

  • c) it’s much harder to ultimately confirm something won’t go sticky. One could confirm device XY isn’t sticky today, but 5 months later it could be tacky like a honeypot

  • d) listing/confirming gear that did become sticky could also contain a bit of information how the device was treated/stored. This might be useful for other owners to possibly prevent the issue (“example” below)

So I could confirm my Arturia MicroBrute (Creation Edition, bought in 2020) did become sticky.
All knobs are affected, PB and Modwheel, Octave buttons are probably the worst. The Tap/Rest button looks similar to the Octave buttons, but it feels very different and surely isn’t the same material, with the result that this button isn’t sticky at all. Lastly the faders are a bit sticky, but it’s not too bad.

Excessive usage can’t be the reason lol, I think I didn’t even touch it for a span of two years or so. It was mostly stored in a half open desk shelf, where it became dusty over time. So covering it up with dust seemingly won’t help preventing the problem
But I’m noticing, after digging it out a few weeks ago and using it again (from time to time), things aren’t as sticky anymore than before. So at the moment I’m assuming not touching it in years made it become sticky, and using it on a regular basis might make it go away again. Only speculation though.

I’ve seen reports saying the knobs on the Monologue became sticky. Though I got one and can’t confirm this. Nevertheless, seems the knobs on the Minilogue, Prologue, etc are identical, so it might be an issue that could occur on the -logue series in general.

EDIT:
there’s a thread reporting sticky knobs on the Monologue over here >> Korg Monologue sticky knobs
