Gear that sounds "record ready"

Hell no, that grime is where the magic is

I came here to say the very same thing.

Ironically some of the gear I’ve had that sounded record ready in the past was the hardest to sit well in a mix, it just sounded too good and everything else felt weak. Yamaha tg33 came to mind. I sold it because it stuck out from my trusty Roland’s etc too much.

Any of those digital synths actually korg m1, wavestation etc

MS20 has a resonant hipass (?)

I had a chance to play Teo-5 at SB, not only it’s an absolute winner by a tone to me, very beautiful sound, but it also gives you a feeling of being inside a krautrock LP, immediate vintage vibe, but very clean and modern at the same time. Harmonia/Cluster/fur immer, remastered in 2020 :stuck_out_tongue:

This was kind of what I was also trying to get at (ie context is everything) If everything is big, nothing is, Its all relative to one another when it comes to mixing IME
