I’m new to this world, I tried about 20 years ago (now in 40s), but at last I have some gear to take my mind off things.
I love the IDM/Ambient music world and over the past year or so I have a Digitakt, Digitone, Typhon Dreadbox and Keystep37.
I love this setup and the Elektron Workflow has finally ‘clicked with me’. I’m DAWless at the moment as I work on computers all day so have no screens is nice. I do find recording a tune somewhat frustrating, mainly due to knowledge. I did use Overbridge recently though recording a live, the levels seemed off though.
I feel like I can accommodate another device to complete my small setup (complete? GAS? yeah right) to help with the ambient/IDM stuff I’m into, but there is so much gear out there.
What do you use or would you recommend? I’ve seen some multi effects pedals that look good, but some are the price of a new synth like the Syntakt or a new sequencer for random-ness.
I think I will need a mixer/recording devices at some point though like a Zoom Hx recorder or the Bluebox 1010 (looks amazing).
Anyway I appreciate your advice.
