Gating a track with another track?

…and now another question…
What if I want to blend the original track with the gated track ? Is there a way to adjust the balance between the 2 tracks ?
If I turn dow the volume of T1, the recording in T2 is turned down as well, so I would need a sort of pre-mixer signal.

With same principle, you can place several rec trigs on the gated track recorder, and place corresponding flex trigs.

Just adjust T1 Level. It is not taken in account by recording. VOL is.

Yes indeed, it’s even easier.

As it can be boring to plock microtiming, you can copy / paste them, or use swing 51 on all steps, as I said. It slightly delays all trigs.

This is damn nice.

It took a bit of head scratching, but just to encourage others: in the end it does work, a different length pattern can do the gating like mentioned, and you can eg. do live filter sweeps etc on the original track that is being gated. Great to switch around the original sample too. Obviously perfect for trance.

Thanks a lot for this thread!
