Gain staging, unison, and track levels

Hi,
I got a Digitone two days ago, after playing with it I noticed something wrong with the gain staging.
When adding voices to the unison, it increases the level of the sound, which makes sense but I don’t remember this happened in other synths I’ve used. As a result of this behaviour, when using only one voice the output level is quite low even at max level. Not an issue of weak outputs, specs mention 22dbu. Adding gain on the recording device brings noise to the background. Does this bother anyone?

My OB-6 is the same way: more voices in mono unison, the louder it gets. And, yes, the Digitone is just a little weak on the ouput overall - I run it through some of my interface’s mic/line inputs so I can boost it.

Thanks for the reply Dave.
After digging more I found more volume controls, to be precise there are four of them. The master knob, track volume, amp volume, velocity volume. Increasing all of the to max helps a bit.
