Hey,

how do you use the fx track? is there a way to change the fx setting for one sound without influenicing the others? just like an insert fx?

It’s not like other Elektron boxes with dedicated FX tracks. The Rytm has master effects and send effects, accessible from an FX page.

The Distortion and Compressor are Master. So they’re either on or off. There is a mix level for the Compressor if you want to do parallel compression.
Everything goes through them, you get to choose how active those processors are in a global sense (off, or light compression or distortion, ramping it up to heavy processing and everything in between)

The Reverb and Delay are Send effects. They are stereo, not insert.
Each track has a Reverb and Delay send amount in the Amp section.
You control the amount of each track you want to “send” to those effects.
You can also use the LFO section of each track to modulate those sends, if you like. But the delay times, reverb decay, hpf, lpf, etc. are just set for a stereo effect, with level in an FX return sense.

The only insert effect that could be considered as such is the Overdrive parameter in the amp section of each track, but it is just one parameter.

There is also a dedicated LFO for FX parameters, in the FX section. If you want to use an LFO to modulate things like Delay Time, Reverb Decay, Distortion Amount, Compressor Dry/Wet Mix (these are just examples).

Also, the External Input comes in just after the Master Distortion and before the Master Compressor.

And lastly, you can change the delay returns and/or the reverb returns to pre or post distortion/compressor.

That said, they sound quite good. Using your LFOs for things like Delay Overdrive in the Distortion section, and PLocking trigs with individual FX send values can yield interesting results.

thanks for your Reply! i thought maybe there is a way in using
the fx track to create individuell soundfx because you can set trigs
in the fx track.
