And don’t sleep on the Hologram Electronics Chroma Console.
Yeah, I saw that. Unsure - lots of fx on it I don’t want or need, and not sure about interface - not dedicated enough perhaps.
The interface is one of the best I’ve used for Live tweaking.
Worth noting that the Volante has a built in spring reverb. You don’t get a lot of control over it and it can be harsh with some inputs, but as a single effect for an analog synth it’s a solid choice. This is also true for the El Cap, which apparently has a darker voice and gives you more control over tape age stuff.
Thanks, I didn’t know any of that!
Btw what do you intend to use pitch shifting for? Note that Strymon Nightsky has this feature IIRC and so does CBA Thermae. Shimmer reverb may then be your thing perhaps, eg Strymon Cloudburst or Specular Tempus.
I’m interested in pitch shifting for more sparse sequences, and for busier sequences / more intense moments to mimic polyphony with the monophonic Cascadia.
I’m not a fan of the whole shimmer reverb thing though. Bit of a one trick pony to me. Which is the impression I’ve gotten from Strymon reverbs, not that they are bad, they sound amazing but very particular. Just watched a video of Cloudburst, had it on in the background and was like, WOAH that sounds incredible, and then thought, yeah but I’d get sick of that very quickly.
A side note: 1010music’s tiny Tangerine could automatically multi-sample your Cascadia so that you could play or sequence the sounds polyphonically And that Strymon Nightsky gets easily dismissed but it is a pretty flexible reverb.
Hahaha. You gear pusher! Thanks, but I’m intent on just the DT2 with this setup for now. I’ll check out the night sky, not really looked at it. I don’t know why they have so many reverb pedals under 1 brand.
Nice one! Lemondrop will work well chords from live input, too…
Here’s a question, delay pedal with playable pitch shift via a knob that will quantize to semitones?
That would be right up my street…
Not what you want but this is a really neat feature not often implemented on Delay pedals. The Vongon Polyphrase has this feature :
The TIME knob interacts with the left and right faders by providing nine different maximum delay times starting at 85 milliseconds, and doubling in value as the parameter is increased up to 22 seconds. Each new delay section is cross faded into the signal path, an important design consideration that avoids any pitch shifting artifacts and is useful for creating new and often unexpected musical phrases when used with high repeat settings.
At the price of getting nice effects pedals, I personally would go for an OTMKI
It’s like having a massive pedal board that’s completely playable and sequencable
I’m a big fan of the Line6 DL-4 MK2.
Meris Mercury 7 for reverb, Particle 2 for delay
One nice thing about the Demora is that it’s a standalone device with it’s own power supply and doesn’t need to be put into a eurorack, you can just use it as a tabletop unit.
Get the cheapest multi effect pedal you can get second hand, and experiment with it for a bit. Study how effect chains may effect the signal and then try replicating that with single pedals if your budget allows so
The Cascadia has a built in wet/dry knob to use with external effects.
I’ve been wanting one, and that makes me think crazier pedals would work great with it since you can fade them down or up. I have a Mood Mk2 that I think would go great with it, as well as other chase bliss delays like Habit or Thermae.
Personally I record into DAW so I would use a software reverb (I have Valhalla Vintage Verb that I use for any reverb needs).
