Very versatile synth with a very wide palette of sounds. Great for acid, basslines and percussion.
I’d love to have another if I could. I imagine I’d get more use out of it now because my tastes have changed and grown

I love mine. Is very similar in architecture to a sequential pro-one but it has faster envelopes a more “aggressive” sound (cuts through like nothing else) and patch points (semi modular)
It also allows for the oscillators to be controlled independently via cv / midi so you can have each oscillator play a separate melody… (at the same time)
I use with the MAQ16 as this allows each row of encoders to be either midi or cv
If it’sa reasonable price and you’re not already swamped in mono synths I’d suggest grabbing one as they don’t come up for sale often
Any news on 777 reissue?
Good quesrion Tajnost !
Or how about any of the other products in the Future Retro catalog ?
The 512 is nice too.

We actually sent off for the 777 chassis metalwork today and started ordering parts. Suit from Musonics/STG Soundlabs is helping us get the artwork finished up and the goal is to make it sit really well on a table with a vectra and revolution. We have finally ironed out all the kinks for bringing this thing back and retaining the original sound quality. There were some pretty significant hurdles to overcome that we assumed would take a lot less time. We will keep you all updated here and on socials as it gets closer to actually being released. Its still too early to give an exact date as we no longer give those until we have production product in hand and tested.
In response to the 512, I doubt we will bring this back and IF we were to do a midi/cv controller it would probably use the Vectra keybed and a lot of the vectra sequencer and controller code but modified to fit in better as a controller. This is a concept we have looked at but just have not come to a good conclusion on. So I would consider that an idea at this point that is marinating.
We should have a few of the other classic devices available in small quantities in the next year as we have found some chassis and have some components left over. We have also had a handful of requests for certain items.
We have been working very hard over the past 4 years on a new digital interface for analog electronics that I am very excited to spill the beans about but, its probably gonna be another 6-12 months before it is ready to see the light of day. Although we have made some leaps and bounds with it the past few months we have been knee deep in Vectra, 777, and eurorack filter production to try and get all those out this year (and keeping Vectra in stock).
thank you all so much for all your kind words and patience with us as we have been navigating being the custodians of this amazing IP that Jered built up over the past 25 years.
We’ll see you at Knobcon !
Damn! Please keep us updated : )
That filter looks really nice. Looking forward to hearing it’s mojo.
Future Retro is facing difficulties, as so many other companies are now, with the tariffs. They have put all manufacturing of their products on hold.
It is possible they may restart after things return to normal, but this sort of burden is difficult for any small company.
The Future Retro 777 reissue just went live on Kickstarter!

i am dawn birb
They are already above the threshold to fund the project, at $90,000. That’s a pretty high threshold for this sort of thing – this is good to see !
So excited for these guys! Thanks for posting!
yeah we had to set the threshold a little higher than normal because of a combination of a few things.
offering the synth at the original retail price was something i really wanted to do but it came at a cost. being a customer myself back in the day i knew just how exciting this would be to all of us
manufacturing costs, R&D, and prototyping have went WAY up in the last few years in some aspects we are seeing 50-70% increases
we wanted to raise enough money to have some operating capital to bring the project together more smoothly on our end and give us a good budget to do the sequencer code and testing properly
we genuinely were not sure how many people would actually buy one, fortunately we were shocked at the 5 hour goal and the 12 hour sellout of the $777 price tier. a huge shout out to anyone who was able to contribute and make this dream in to a reality.
And 18 hours later the pledged is now up to $141,429 and there are 18 days left.
Just so it is absolutely clear, hopefully it is already, i think the threshold as set was a good thing and made complete sense. No complaints from me. Happy to see the success.
Those around this forum may know me as a crowdfunding nerd ( good, bad and ugly ), so i follow these things. Thanks for some insights on the process setting up a Kickstarter.
So congratulations, you now are about to face the fortunate challenge with the logistics of getting all these systems manufactured and into customers hands.
Something simple lots of Kickstarter ventures miss : Doing many short updates along the way, on the wins and challenges, keeps backers happy along the course.
oh, i did not take it as a complaint, but it is an objectively true observation and i just wanted to give you all a little insight. i enjoy transparency and opportunities like this offer the platform to display interesting things like this.
fortunately we are working with manufacturing facilities we have used before so thats really nice
and yes we will be updating the kickstarter often, as we will have a lot of info on a regular basis with all the different working parts coming together, which include: faceplates, chassis, pcb for analog synth board, pcb for the digital sequencer board, packaging, sequencer code updates (including added features), and last but not least videos of fully completed units.
thank you so much for your continued support, encouragement and insights. you have always been an extremely helpful community member.
I also birbed…
Missed my opportunity to pick one up about 15 years ago at an outstanding deal. Kicking myself ever since. No regrets this time (except my pocketbook)…
