So I’m sure not many will argue with me that the Bass Station II was an instant hit. I bought mine on pre-order and love it. I’m seeing loads of synth videos on youtube now with a BSII either in the mix or sitting somewhere in the camera shot. I just watched a side by side with a BSII and an SH-101 and the two are very similar. So this thing clearly has sold well and I hear more good than bad from most people.
So my point. Do you think Novation will follow this up with a beefier analog synth? Maybe more oscillators, bigger keyboard, polyphonic, on board effects? I know the BSII hit a lot of sweet spots, price + sound + analog. I’m not sure a larger more expensive analog synth would be able to have the same success even if the sound was fantastic. Being a company that has made more VA’s do you think they would follow this success?
I would say probably yes, they will have a poly analog synth next year or two.
I had a BSII for about 3 weeks until I sold it when i got my Pulse 2. IMO, the Pulse 2 is a much better synth, but also higher in price here in the US.
Since I took delivery of my Analog 4 Keys I am no longer interested in picking up any other analog synths. This thing just kicks a**.
I also think Arturia may cook up something as well, a poly synth and probably an analog drum machine.
The Pulse 2 interested me but the price difference was fairly large and Waldorf was taking a while to get it out. How is the bottom end on the P2? I mainly have my BSII on bass duties and it seemed like the Pulse 2 was good for so much more.
