Dammit, I discovered this app now just to realize it’s not available for download…
F%*£ing Elektron, I hate them for not providing the right tools or supporting third party developers when they try to patch the obvious lack of tools…
Another example when engineers develop music tools and not musicians…
Ouch … a bit harsh maybe ? Despite some obvious omissions, the DT2 in particular has at least one awesome 3rd party tool, elk-herd, and it seems Elektron help keep the developer up to date.
Yes thanks to its developer, not to Elektron. The Samples/projects/patterns managing is a total disaster in Elektron products. We are left to rely on third party developers who have to work without any support from Elektron.
Elk-herd must be great but there’s no such tool for DN. I have OT and DN and so far none of them allow to copy paste full pattern and sounds between projects. If you ever played live and need to prepare a set, it’s a basic requirement to have especially when we speak about machine worth a month salary.
The reason I mentioned elk-herd, was because @mzeroIS, I understand, getting some help from elektron. But I also appreciate the more general point you’re making.
Yes, I do receive developer technical support from Elektron for elk-herd. Since they don’t have the resources to have a full-on developer program, it took some time to establish a relationship. I’m thankful for the trust they put in me, and in turn I’m very respectful of their time, and work as independently as possible.
As for extending elk-herd for more devices… Digitone 2 would be probably fairly easy - if I had one - maybe Tonverk too… The older devices (Digitone, Syntakt, Analog * probably harder. Of course, the biggest impediments to supporting these: time!
