Force vs Octatrack

I know… Force has so much going for it, but…

  1. Even though Force has lots of effects and tracks and more flexibility, somehow(right or wrong) I feel the engine on the OT with its effects and all makes it sound better.
Any of you felt the same?
I tried to replicate on both the same sounds, and this was my feeling.

  2. I like the Force, but somehow OT feels more immediate in sound synthesis with its layout.
(I must confess that I m not a great fan of the grid in Force… taking so much space)

  3. I believe Force is the greatest box outside of a daw. But somehow I feel OT more immediate? I don t know…

Maybe u have greater experience with both, so let us all know ur opinions.

Von Mecha /slak909 inspired…

anyone have both, what are your thoughts?

…hmmmm…force is more like a wannabee push meets daw directly hardware thing…
and in achieving this somehow it’s trying hard to keep it’s promise…

while the ot can also work a bit like that, if u try hard enough, it’s a truu experimental, very unique music instrument in first place…
and can’t replace a daw for real by any means…

if u wanna go dawless for real, there’s almost no way around something like an actual mpc or force…and saying that, i’d always pick a mpc instead of a force…
on actual mpc’s the music instrument factor and the studio factor got pretty close these days…

while, well well well, an ot is an always timeless good to have peace of gear…no matter what…
totally outdated and totally future proofed at the exact same moment in liquid time…

I tried the MPC fx, I don’t rate them but I guess it is down to personal preference, a lot of people don’t like the OT fx. :man_shrugging:

I don’t think the OT fx are as bad as some people say, but after a while of owning one you kind of just want some different sounding effects to mess with. Stupid GAS…

…ot’s fx in naked, static glance at them, are out of any comparison competion…
…the whole ot overall concept is way to versatile…it’s fx capabilities are not made for traditional fx use…they’re made for sounddesign experimentation sonic safaris, where u make them swirling to and frow, constantly moving and changing in REALTIME…

as said…the whole damned thing is a music instrument that’s want to be treated and played like a truu music instrument…

and personally…i never heard anything sonicwise compareable, once u get it’s comb filter going into interaction with and/or on and/or through whatever…
feel the real slide and just let it happen…back and forth is always with u…

I’m racking my brain trying to decipher what i just read lol :stuck_out_tongue:
all jokes aside i sorta kinda understand what your sayin
