Is it bad for my Elektron gear to be in the upright position? Erogonomocally, the below photo shows what works for me and my poor neck.
I certainly don’t want to ruin my AK. About to dive into those condishimumtricklezbabknowhatimsayin?Sorry. Not sure that is for me; please tell me you have some kind of support/brace in there so it won’t fall?
Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Don’t now if it would hurt, but it sure does look great!
Does anyone know for sure if this is bad for the oscillators or other components? I’m not a keyboard player, mostly a knobster so my wrists are mostly up, comfortably, by the knobs at the top of the AK. and because I’m 6ft 6in the device is up on the top shelf so I can stand up straight now for hours. I will lean it back on something slightly but mostly way upright. Please let me know if it’s bad sitting like this for months or years. Cheers, mates.
Definitely not bad for the electronics
They don’t care which side is up
Edit: And at 6ft6 they aren’t likely to complain to you
I wouldn’t generalize it this way (especially with analog synths which produce quite some heat internally).
There are electronics that care about the orientation due bad thermal design. I would at least check where the heat outlets are, because in that upright orientation heat will build up around the display area.
^ Wise advice generally - ensure that no vents are covered, I think the AK has enough mass to dissipate the heat and has no vents IIRC
Thanks. That really all helps, everybody.
The best thing is to suspend it from the ceiling with the keys facing the floor, then stand directly below it and play.
Ha! I just love this community. You guys are great.
