Five 'desert island' albums

Fine tastes in this thread.
So, only five is impossible, If i had to flee right now it would be :

  • Prince - Parade
  • Motorpsycho - Blissard
  • Mr.Bungle - Discovolante
  • Disasterpeace - Hyper Light Drifter OST
  • Deerhoof - The Runners Four

If it really is a desert island then I’ll take:

The Elder Scrolls - Skyrim Official Soundtrack
Ambient Archives Vol. 1
Echogarden Compilation Volume 2
Takuya Morita - Moonlit Lake
Spiral Dub - Perception

I base the above not on them being famous names or anything, but on these releases containing tracks that I literally listen to on repeat, like, forever, and have done so for years (CD’s that never leave the car etc)

Sisters Of Mercy — Floodland
Cassandra Complex — Theomania
Etnica – Live In Athens 1996
Pleiadians — Alpha Draco (Live Edition)
AC/DC — Live at Paradise Theater, Boston, USA 21-08-1978

All I can think is that if I pick my 5 favourite albums, then within 3 months I’ll be kinda bored of them and trying to write symphonies with coconut shells…

I could very easily have had First and Last and Always (or any of the loads of bootlegs I’be got !) or Faith… (or Skeletal Family/Ghost Dance  )

Defining album for me, so that’s one.

I’ll make that my theme: albums that had a big impact when I heard them for the first time. And that are still on rotation in my playlists.

Machinedrum - Rooms
Burial - Untrue
The Smiths - Meat is Murder
Ride - Going blank again
