Im slowly getting to grips with it. Basic stuff like just adding effects to a sample is easy enough but stuff like midi sequencing and sampling are much harder. I have my synths working but sometimes thru machines work and sometimes they dont. I usually resort to putting the volume up in the mixer.
And triggered sampling is a ball ache. Sometimes it works sometimes i just get silence. But all in all this thing is great fun.
I really need to get more comfortable with it though so I can move beyond four bar patterns. I must have watched the video lessons like 50 times…
oh and pick up machines are crazy annoying to use. Can they be triggered?
Eventually I am hoping I can get as good as this…
I am right there with you! It’s taken me a while to get the hang of using recorder trigs. A bunch of times I left one on a track and armed it by mistake using the Enter/Yes button, overwriting the recorder buffer. I’m still getting to grips with it.
And I as far as running gear through the inputs, many times this weekend I had green lights on my inputs, and yet no sound coming through the OT.
Hopefully some practice will yield consistent results. I did learn a bunch of new tricks, still have A LOT to learn. Particularly need to sort out acceptable levels that result in samples & external audio matching somewhat. It complicates things that I’m using FX sends on my mixer to route audio to the OT which means more things to remember volume settings on.
Oh well, all in good fun!

I keep doing that, hit yes too many times and it arms the tracks right.
The green light and no sound, had that a bunch of times, not sure why. I know I can turn dir on in the mixer, but I just want the effected thru machine signal. No idea why I am getting it work sometimes and not others. Maybe its my track buffer settings per track (probably only setting up buffer one properly).
Whats the best tip you’ve picked up so far?
For me it has to be Function + Down arrow. Keyboard and slice mode are useful.
Been trying to get track delay mode working but I dont know how to set up a beat repeat style delay so its not working.
Slowly making my way through the manual, but its pretty slow going so far.
It may sound obvious but check that you’ve got the trigs set on the thru track. If it’s a one-shot trig then it’ll need re-arming. I’ve found as well that hitting stop once doesn’t fully stop the sequencer in the way those trigs need. Just tap it a few times to make sure that isn’t it.
From what I remember about the beat repeat style delay, set the Lock parameter, which might be in the setup page, to on and then with the delay ctrl trig setup the rightmost buttons’ll activate each tracks delay and the leftmost set the repeat time.
Thanks a lot. I’ll try both when I get home this afternoon.

Essential viewing for manual sampling;

I will watch that now because I am getting infuriated with the trig sampling. Set up just like in the video but cant seem to actually get anything to play/record.
Seems to not enjoy RLEN on max for some reason.
Anyway cheers for the link

I know how you feel. I’ve never managed to trig sample right either, but manual sampling using the method described in the video works a treat!
