First Kick Track On Digitakt Glitches When Plugged Into Logic via USB

Never had this problem before. But when Digitakt is plugged into Logic via USB, the first track (Kick) gets all screwy and can’t be heard and settings can’t be changed on that single track.

The setting that seem to be effected are the note (drops down to C1 -24), the velocity (down to zero), AMP (attack, hold and delay resets to zero along with volume). I can’t change (turning knobs does nothing) any of these settings until I unplug the USB cable.

This does NOT effect any other track on the Digitakt for some reason. Only the first track.

What is going on?

Do you have any of the midi tracks assigned to channel 1?

Best regards,

Gino

Nope. It makes no difference if there are midi tracks active or not actually. Still get the same result when the USB is plugged in, but only on the 1st track.

That’s definitely strange.

What happens if you keep the usb connected, and turn it off in the midi config?

Same problem. Tried what you suggested. Still messes up the 1st track (and only the 1st track) parameters.

I’ve been having this problem recently too

Not sure about DT but on OT it’s best to turn off midi control of audio tracks.

I’m both happy and sorry to hear that. Lol. It’s driving me crazy but I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Do you mean not to sequence anything via MIDI from Digitakt? I’m controlling like 5 other external instruments at the same time.

No, I mean there is a setting where you map incoming midi channels to trigger the audio tracks, maybe turn off for audio track 1. I assume you just want to send midi clock from Logic to DT

Anyone have a definitive answer as to why this would happen?

Hi Dave:

Have you had a chance to resolve this issue? I am using your Overbridge + Logic 10.5.1 template that you kindly provided but this problem keeps coming up. It’s quite disheartening. I was wondering whether you resolved this issue since this string appears to be quite dated. Thank you for your support!

As a quick solution, it turns out, that when disabling the RECEIVE CC/NRPN setting under the MIDI --> PORT CONFIG on the Digitakt, the issue is not happening anymore.

Not sure about the underlying issues though.

Hope this helps folks.
