I just obtained a RNC… I have a dawless setup with various instruments… from synths, to samplers, to to guitars… I use a Tascam 32 for my mixes and recording… my question isn’t exactly how to use a compressor (I’m going to learn once I hook it it up)… my question is this… I’m not sure exactly how to use it as in - should I use is it as an fx send? and bounce and record various tracks seperately? (this is my first choice) but I’m looking for other options on what would be the best way to use the RNC… Sorry if the question is vague, I’m just having a hard time asking it.
I guess basically how should I use it in my signal path? I’m not asking on how to hook it up… just curious where in the path should I use it… IE… instrument, to compressor, to Tascam… or use fx sends? Any advice would be great thanks…

If you get yourself a small passive highpass filter you can run that into the sidehcain. That way you can process your whole mix without killing your low end (your kick specifically).
What about the for the time being? If I buy anymore gear right now the wife will kill me 
a passive highpass can be like $5-20 usd. in the mean time, I like to compress my bass synths if they are doing bass lines

Interesting, thanks fro the link - it will work even though it’s for guitar? As sometimes I find some my guitar pedals are finicky with some my synths. And the bass or guitar version?

I’ll wait a bit, see if anyone else has any other options - I’ll research that pedal in the time being.

How would I sidechain that pedal? Can you give me an example so I can picture it? Thanks
I think I will just use the FX insert/fx sends, mix everthing on a bounce track… if I want a killer bass, I just won’t fx the bass track… that should work… though I’m still curious about that pedal
ie: I’ll mix everything in a bounce, and the bass seperate (if I don’t want to run it through the compressor) if that make sense.
