Two versions: “32” for melodies / chords, “16” for beats.
Comes with and obviously best with Studio Pro DAW, but apparently also has integration with Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Cubase.

the hardware looks like everyone eles hardware … i’d guess theyre manufactured by same company with a different company name printed on them .
id guess its ‘fender’ trying to get their name into the daw/controller world now that theyve taken over that other company (forgotted who they were already…presonus according to google 2021 , it seemed more recent ).

These are improved versions of the Presonus ATOM and ATOM SQ. Those are threaded.

There is probably a big market of guitar players that don’t know anything about electronic instrument production and the brands, which are good, etc; that will happily buy this because they are interested but don’t trust things they don’t know… fender is a known quantity and people will buy on brand recognition alone.

How releasing a dedicated S1 controllers is a questionable “business practice”?
Or do you have something else in mind?
They’d have to sue themselves, too. There’s only so many ways you can design a MIDI controller… I’m pretty sure no one copyrighted their.

That doesn’t matter according to fender. They never copyrighted their strat either, yet here we are.
Love the excitement in the parent post. However, here is why this may not be promising. Fender recently won by default judgement a case against an importer who was selling Strat fakes. They won under the guise of “copyrighted work of applied art” and in this case, we can all agree they were valid in trying to take down a maker that was intentionally creating fakes.
However, since they were successful in this case they’ve been aggressively threatening pretty much every creator throughout Europe who’s building anything that even remotely resembles the Strat shape.
Also important to note that in 2009, they tried and failed to secure a trademark for this shape in the US. The reason it was rejected was because they weren’t actively trying to defend their design up until that point. Also valid.

Yes I have been following it… I’m not happy with them either… I have all ways used fender most… I’m thinking of a Gibson if I get a new guitar ever though… my current guitar is a fender copy!! Well… modified with stiff fender would never do like gold foil pickups and a pull out coil tap, plus nitro on a guitar that doesn’t cost a freaking car… I also love the guitars but not a fan of the company…

I always liked Fender guitars. I currently have an American Standard Stratocaster, American Professional Telecaster, American Acoustisonic Telecaster and a Squier Vintage Modified short scale bass. I have probably owned about 10 more at different times. I’ve been looking at buying a new full scale bass lately. Fender is not on my list.

To be accurate this thread is on updates to products Fender introduced in 2021 or there abouts. Old news.
I see nothing about those details in the parent post of this thread. This is a 7 hour old post featuring a video that was posted 8 hours ago of a new product made by Fender. It is even described as “our all-new professional-grade pad controllers.”
You made one comment pivoting the discussion into it actually being a prior pre sonus product. That is all well and fine with me although I can see an argument being made that that is equally as off topic. But my posts directly involve and answer to the comments of the OP themselves. I don’t care if there are other thread elsewhere, they asked a direct question and I answered.

It’s so weird to see Fender name on a midi controller, to me it’s just so synonymous with guitars. Maybe they should release it under a different brand, like Access did when they went the opposite way.
Anyway, I’m not looking for a DAW controller, but they have midi ports, so it depends what they can do standalone with hardware.

Says quite a bit after all this time for Fender ( with the team they have from Presonus ) to re-commit to such a large set of improvements on the original products.
I don’t recall the original products having pads from Fatar but smart to emphasize that. ( Actually didn’t recall Fatar doing pads before at all, but it makes sense. ) How well they play with the poly-aftertouch will have to be experienced, but they are emphasizing the premium feel of the pads.
Does it output MPE too, or just p-at ?
They also have added several ways to use this in various chord modes. Nice. That is the trend now. That also could work nicely with stand-alone MIDI polyphonic gear as well. They call that out specifically in a video, so they intend for the new models to be more than just DAW machines.
More choice is good.
( With Fatar pads, could there be a key controller in the works ?? )
ADDED : I did some looking ( Fender’s info on what’s new with these two products ) and Fender says, “The pads themselves are built in partnership with FATAR, and Fender describes this as FATAR’s first pad design.” I’m not sure how the pad context-awareness is done.
Now i am really interested in these pads.
