Feature suggestion: Global, pattern Independent parameters (e.g. so that track volumes don't change on pattern switches)

I wish there would be an option to set track volumes to be global and ignore/don’t update on pattern changes.

It would be very useful for live sets. You would be able to control the mixer inside the machines completely manually and perform with it.

The mixers inside Elektron machines are great. Individual tracks, effect sends, panning, ext. in… How awesome would it be to just connect a midi controller (like the Launchcontrol) and control the mixer like a hardware mixer.

The faders & knobs of the controller would always represent the current mixer values.

Here is an example image how a midi controller could control the mixer parameters of an Elektron machine. Unfortunately right now all knob and fader positions are invalid after pattern changes and the parameters jump to new values.

**Two ideas how to implement global / pattern independent parameters **

1.
The user could switch specific parameters to global/independent via a button combination + parameter knob.

Here is a graphic how global parameters could be visualized (and how it compares to how parameter locks are displayed)

Advantage of this implementation would be, that users can freely decide what parameters they want to set global: One user might only want to control track volumes manually, another also sends and filter cutoff.

2.
Not so flexible, but maybe simpler. Have a system setting:

Global parameter
Track volume: On / Off
Effect Send: On / Off

And have ^ these settings override the levels set in Sounds?

On the face of it … this could be super useful.

Yes. In my case I e.g. want to use a midi controller to control the electron machines like on a hardware mixer. In live sets I don’t want track volumes and effect sends to change on pattern changes and instead control them manually on my controller.

Yeah this is also keeping me from adding a controller to my AR.

Another option in similar direction would be having the machines send out midi cc on kit/pattern change. A controller with pick up mode would then at least not make a parameter jump when turning a knob.

On the OT cc values can be requested with a regular midi message, on the others it requires sysex. Would be useful if there was the option to have it sent automatically.

Yes, yes, yes!
Even if it was just for track volume it would be a great addition.
I’ve used faders for my Digitakt track levels for ages, but pattern changes have always been a workaround (using a looper and bringing all faders back to zero).
Expanding the idea to all parameters would be even better. Would really take live performance with these amazing machines to the next level!

It could even be used as a performance feature. Activating and deactivating a parameter to be globally turns off or on any parameter locks / automation.
