Ok, I love the OT but the midi seq is driving me crazy because I can’t send program change messages per step. My mono machine is more than happy to send BUT what I would love to do is send program change messages to the mono allowing me to “chain” monomachine patterns from my OT.
The combination of the OT’s per track scale setups and program changes would make its midi seq so powerful. It would open up a workflow where very long melodic sequences could be wrapped into single OT patterns.
Right now I am forced to make the Mono machine the midi master and run it at a VERY slow tempo in order to compensate. It is a bit hacky and is the opposite direction that I like tho think about growing my patterns into larger structures.
Has anyone else run into this/ found workarounds?
What are the chances that a future OS update would address the issue?
Why not set up a Multi Map on the Monomachine so that you can send MIDI notes from the OT to start any pattern on the Monomachine?[/quote]
This sounds like the smart way to do it. Otherwise you could use a MIDI translator to convert one of the CCs from the OT to program changes.
Thanks for the reply. I’ve had some trouble getting the multimap to work the way I want. The way its set up to edit, it seems like you have only a handful of octave ranges to map to patterns. I think there are somthing like seven ranges? You mentioned setting it up so that it could trigger any pattern on the mono. Is there something about multi map that I’m missing?
I can understand how expensive features can be. I’m a software developer myself. That said, I wonder if they will ever be willing to release the source for these machines. I would love the chance to dive in.
