I’m curious which of the Octatrack reverbs you regularly use. Select as many as you like.
i gotta say my top 3 are the dark reverb, spring reverb, and plate reverb

Dark sounds by far the best when static, almost what you’d normally call “acceptable”, but plate has the dampen and gate parameters that you can get a lot of mileage from modulating, so I use it a bit more
Usually have a better external reverb on a send anyway

I struggle to love Plate but will keep exploring, especially the gate-focused stuff but like Dark Reverb and have more appreciation for Spring than most I think - really like panning something plucky in one ear and putting spring on the opposite, bit of modulation and I like it!

I need to spend more time with the Spring. I typically don’t like real spring reverbs and a so-so programmed version isn’t something I reach for. But maybe there are some interesting and atypical sounds in there.
A related reason this is on my mind is that space for writing new effects on the Octatrack is very short … but overwriting one of the reverbs would provide a lot of space for new stuff.
the secret sauce is in the combination of the reverbs, especially spring & dark

I gravitate towards lofi murk anyway…but yeah, I feel there’s a big difference between the physicality of the modelled spring…has a pleasing ‘realness’ to me as opposed to ‘dowse in a big lush space-y reverb effect’. I also like the big lush thing too via dark reverb, don’t get me wrong, just a different thing.

I really like the spring. I’ve got an ancient doepfer spring module and three chambers, but I’ve no view on whether the octatrack spring sounds authentic, it sounds like it’s supposed to be a spring reverb, and it sounds good, especially on short twangs or sparse drums.
The others are fine but just not foreground effects. The plate can be good on drums.

I’ve been playing around with it on guitar today. Sounds like a Fender reverb to me. It sounds good to me, even if it isn’t a sound I use much.
I tried ther springeeverb and it sounds nice, Comb + spring
I mean, for the reverbs on the octatrack, they are all good. And the modulation possibilities make them unique among reverbs.
The spring reverb is fun for certain sounds. But again, doesnt sound like an actual spring reverb.
However- If I AB any sound through the any of the OT reverbs against my quadraverb, I pick quadraverb everytime.
…errrr, ot’s reverb selection is the only part of this timeless sonic swiss knife, u can really tell how old it really is…
grrreat for twiddle action, but just an ancient metallic shizzle leftover whenever tried for any sorts of static ambience room settings…
but never the less, still and forever essential, whenever combined with any of it’s other fx options…
and to this day, any combination with it’s combfilter still sounds like nothing else out there…
I love the OT’s gritty, bunker-style reverbs. As @marccc says, magic can be found when combining reverbs and also combining the reverb with other FX in front of it.

I only ever really use the dark reverb. love it tho. bit of high shelf to remove some of the high frequencies, turn up the decay - lovely stuff 
Big fan of the spring reverb. I love using it on percussion or field recordings. Adds a nice grimy zing to everything.

example of spring & dark combo via thru & neighbor machine.
the sound of the syntakt and digitone is sent through the OT Reverbs 100% wet and with a short amp envelope as a gate of the thru machine to let the input pass through the fx chain (TRIG light of step 13 as an indicator)
i love using it that way for creating a bit variation and depth without cluttering the whole mix
