Favorite Rapper and Why is it MF DOOM?

And since this is the Favorite Rapper thread, this my favorite Busta Rhymes track that Dilla did the beat for.

This thread is great!

Favorite rappers:
MF DOOM (seriously, it doesn’t get better than this)

Black Thought (criminally underrated)

Freddie Gibbs (his Madlib albums are my fave, but I swear, he could flow over the sound of someone driving a 2002 Civic with 3 flat tires and it’d still bang)

Tyler, The Creator (his flow isn’t on the same level as the others, but for me, as a young millennial, it’s definitely a right-place, right-time thing… I have so many fond memories tied to his music, and just love his production)

John Reuben (self-aware midwestern jewish guy, who leaned into all the gimmicks, always wore his heart on his sleeve, and could always make a crowd jump and smile at the same time. He used to tour through my area a lot, and always brought a live drummer and bassist, so that’s instant praise from me. Super fun guy.

Favorite producers:
DJ Shadow
Madlib
Q-Tip
Dilla
El-P
The Alchemist

Favorite groups:
Tribe
Beasties
The Roots
(I could be content listening to only Madvillainy, Low End Theory, and Paul’s Boutique for the rest of eternity)
