Fastest way to bounce multiple tracks to a recording and assign to a new track

I’m finding that to really go deep in my arrangements on this machine I need to let myself free to bounce a few tracks to a new recording and then assign that to a track I’m not liking and work with that as a sample. It’s the “forward flow” way I’m feeling works for me on the OT.

Right now I choose a recording buffer, sample my audio and then hit Function+REC3 to then edit and name and save and assign a flex or static track. Then I go in and delete everything on the track I assign it to.

I wish there was a “bounce” shortcut! Is there a better way I’m not aware of? Thank you.

Send to multiple to cue and record that. It’s been a while since I octatracked and I suspect the above method will mishmash the stereo image of the recorded track but it’s worth a shot

Nope. All sampling is done in realtime.
Your method is good. You could send to cue as mentioned above, but that would give the same results as sampling main.

Sample, save. Assign to track.

Not always the same results as sampling Main, as there may be effects or compression on Main which would then be doubled up if you were to play back the recorded mixdown. Sending your tracks to Cue and sampling that avoids this issue.
