I am note really concerned about the load times as much as a card that is reliable.

I bought a Transcend 266X 64GB that is the exact brand/model as the stock 16GB Elektron sends with the unit. I figured it would have to be compatible and reliable if Elektron trusts that brand to send with their units.

I have had a few major failures now. I am trying to be very careful now, saving and syncing in the proper order… but still having bad luck with this new card.

I upgraded to 1.25c last night and after that NONE of the files created by the recorder buffers would save to the card… there is an error message and no file saved. I spent about an hour turning the unit off and on, deleting the bad files and trying again and again… same issue… when I open the Recorder Buffer sample in the editor and use the Save to Open Flex Slot I just get a bad file. I gave up before digging out the 16GB card from Elektron and ordered the Sandisk Ultra card.

I had JUST wiped the Transcend card, formatted in the OT and reinstalled all my samples after this error appeared on the OT while trying to find out why a majority of the samples on the card, many that I had never used, just mysteriously showed up with gibberish text…

I probably do not need to use a 64GB card… so I ordered a 32GB Sandisk Ultra ~50MB/s card because I read another user claimed his 32GB Sandisk never failed on him.

very frustrating. I like having a big card with lots of files to choose from… maybe I need to scale that back a bit.

I was hoping to get some feedback on cards that work the best. Is it that any 64GB is just too big to expect to work well?

UPDATE: Spent like 2 hours trying to get the card to work in the Octatrack… would not even Format in the OT. Spent forever trying to get it to recognize on any computer… my Mac eventually said the card is hosed and I can’t even read it anymore. Put it back in the OT, now it formatted and copied the files back on and seems to work again.

Just do not trust this card… think I might just use it to back up file onto and put it in a drawer.
