Fascinating inside scoop on being a full-time Synth YouTuber

I think the only real way to deal with it is on YouTube. Makes sense.

As in make a video.

A lot less if you install this nifty browser extension (all major mobile and desktop browsers):

It is a crowdsourced addon that replaces cklickbait titles and crappy keyframes with descriptive titles and a frame that better represents the video. Costs $1 once, but you can choose to not pay this if you don’t feel like it.

Click on the link and you see how that works. Pretty amazing, really.

Comes from the guy who made SponsorBlock, another extension that cowdsources which sections of a video are recaps, advertisements, self-promotion, intros/outros, tangents/jokes etc. and lets you decide which of those categories you want to skip automatically.

For some youtubers, that cuts the runtime of their videos in half. You mostly don’t even notice the cuts. It’s like an adblocker on stereoids that also makes videos better.

Life is too short to put up with all that crap.

This place is owned by Elektron.
Admins are Elektron employees.
Moderators are not.

Agreed.
Discussing process/outcome is way more interesting than tabloid-like discussions.

Thanks for correcting me. I’ve edited my previous comment to avoid any false info spread.

I wondered the same thing also but guessed that was likely the case.

I also appreciated that this ‘toxic’ forum is respectful of their preferred pronouns even while taking the piss a bit.

But, not knowing for sure and my mind defaulting to thinking of RMR as ‘he’ there were a few times upthread I got confused and thought ‘they’ was another party in relation to RMR.

But I was only skim reading for the most part. And I think that confusion come from as much as the common casual use of ‘they’ to refer to any entity, i.e., “they’re making a live action Lion King movie”, when what’s meant is “Disney are making…”.

I am on several forums and Elektronauts is clearly the friendliest, kindest and open minded forum of all of them by far!! Only very very few times I have experienced a toxic topic and that was resolved within the community.

Thank you for that and special thanks to the moderators! And to Elektron for providing and maintaining a forum that discusses other products more than their own :+1:t3:

Same here. Owned lots of elektron gear, sold em, still here for the friendliness and positive attitude. And the memes !

Do I have to care ?

This place is great, no doubt about it.
I’ve been here for years and I’ve been given help and offered mine to anyone, if I could.

For me the RMR’s video didn’t give some new insight into how the world/market is working, but maybe it is a great help and eye opener to others?

I think it’s ok for RMR to post whatever video he wants, I was never a subscriber and probably never will be.

But I think the Toxic topic is blown up, also here.
Yes, RMR shouldn’t post forum names/ calling elektronaut users out as toxic, but I personally don’t care if he has a beef with Elektron or why.

I only watched the video because it was posted here, otherwise I wouldn’t have seen it.
And it’s been given way too much attention.

I wrote a sentence in this thread yesterday and got my first flag ever! The post also been removed by moderator and no explanation been provided, even though I asked for clarification so I know what I did wrong.
So it seems like this thread is a little sensitive and I personally think that we should all chill out and give RMR way less attention.
