Don’t know about FB but surely there are on Amazon where some OT are listed at around 200-300 euro less than usual. It is crazy that Amazon didn’t close these accounts as they have many negative comments reporting scams.
Unfortunately scammers learn what is valuable and expand out into what would seem an odd thing to scam. As always, be careful! I see nothing wrong with always asking for a current photo with a handwritten date in front of it, etc.
Also, always use something like Paypal Goods & Services with a clear description of what the money is for when paying.
Almost every time I see a post online about someone getting scammed, it is because they paid by bank transfer or Friends & Family and the seller just stopped communicating after that.
That will give you some cover at least.
I started noticing a few off ones on Ebay recently - £1k= synths listed as BIN for less than £500. New users with zero feedback, and kept seeing very similar ads with different usernames usign the same pictures and description.
I was half tempted to take a punt and be ready to try and get my money back from Ebay when it inevitably didn’t work.
I just couldn’t work out what the scam was? Just hoping people would pay with somethign that can’t be reversed by Ebay/PP dispute?
Maybe that, or maybe ship a box containing nothing (or just junk) so there is proof of delivery and then dispute it when you say you didn’t receive the goods.
