What do you think about this FX pedal ? It has midi, in , out, through, chainable FX, studio level stereo i/o.
I have the model before on my pedal board. hd500, I’ve only used it on guitar. Most of the stuff is useable. I run it in to vox ac15 so I don’t use the amp models except for occasionally experimenting with their distortion/character/cabinets as an effect in the chain. It’s very tweakable. You can have dual effect chains and split stuff wherever you like. Can send different chains out of the left/right ouputs to different amps/pedals etc simultaneously. I use the filters (the ‘slow’ one is cool for Ratatat stuff…) etc pretty often. The distortions are typical digital. Average. Delays are OK. Reverb OK. Best thing about it is how deep/weird you can go and then assign whatever you want to the expression pedal. Also has decent looper and a ton of patch/performance configurability. It definitely doesn’t trump my stymon and analog pedals but very useful to have around to add in stuff. And if it was the only pedal you had then most of the stuff is good enough to use. Bit of a pain to program tho. Much easier when connected to the pc editor.
Should also mention it’s pretty big/heavy. Takes up like a third of my big Pedaltrain board. And it’s greedy for power. It’s the only pedal I have that I run its own psu. The rest run off couple of power bricks.
I wonder if can be used as stereo FX unit, not sure about the return channels, from what i read its looking like you can feed a stereo signal in and out + guitar ?
I am currently drawn between this, and the OTO bim and the RMX 500 which is probably more aimed at electronic music. For live music i thought its not too bad to press with my feet for additional FX, and if the thing responds to midi CC, sequencing the FX with an LFO from the Octatrack might be interesting to setup.
I can play a little bit guitar, i read so far that the pedal can be a bit noisy, did you recognize something like this ?
