Eventide Space or Timefactor... or both?

Just got a month job in the States and i always treat myself to a little “on the road” comfort. Buy it online whilst still in the UK in enough time for it to be delivered to my first hotel.
Trips to the US always brings on a galloping dose of GAS and i’ve been tinkering with the idea of the Eventide Space or Timefactor. … or more expensively BOTH.
Gentlemen, your thoughts please…

you have to know what you want (need). Do you need a Reverb? Or a Delay? This is a decision you have to make. Make it and your question answers it by itself

If you need a suggestion for other Units that can keep up with or even beat the Eventides i can be of help for you with 2 simple answers:

You need a Reverb? Check out the Strymon BigSky!
You need a Delay? Check out the Strymon Timeline!

Make your decision mate

There be the rub!

I’m in an ambient, cosmic soundscape phase at the moment and both reverb and delay lend themselves to where i’m at.

The old KP3 just doesn’t cut it any longer. I’m thinking Space over time perhaps or has my mushroom soup past it’s sell by date?

If it has to be an Eventide, you’ll probably get the best bang for the buck from the Space, because it has the ModEchoVerb algorithm which combines modulation, echo (delay), and reverb, as well as the other algorithms for more cosmic sounds. There’s also another algorithm that will give you a tremolo effect, and yet another that includes distortion. So it’s kind of like a multieffects box.

Actually, there is yet another Eventide you might want to look at - the H9. It’s not for everybody, but maybe it’s for you? It’ll let you pick and choose from the effects algorithms on the Space, Timefactor, ModFactor, and PitchFactor - you pay accordingly. Eventide messed up the initial marketing by playing up the IOS side so much that people thought you need an iPad to use it (actually, you don’t!) and it scared some away.

Yeah in that case i would when say: Go for both

The Problem is: You can have similar things from each other - but they are not the same in the end. A Delay stays a delay and a Reverb a Reverb. I dont actually know the Eventides; i love their native Plugins though, they are amazing! Got that UltraChannel from their promotion for free and just checked the Blackhole which is a really nice Reverb …

Yeah but the point is: I own a Strymon BigSky and had a Strymon Timeline before. And while both can do some sort of the stuff the other one is specialized in it stays true: If you need a Delay, get a Delay and if you need a Reverb get a Reverb  For Ambient Music i have the feeling that you need both anyway!

One suggestion for another quite interesting Product i found in the Past: Take a look at Neunabers Slate: http://neunaber.net/collections/pedals/products/slate-stereo-effect-pedal-2

This one allows you to have a Reverb on the Pedal or a Delay or more - depending on what you want. You just load the correct software. Maybe this could be for you as well if you cant decide??
