Yeah I have. What I mean is- and hopefully I’m wrong here- is that in the app, if you start from an INIT patch, to load an algorithm (say “filter pong”) you have to open the preset library tab and then select an algorithm; at this point all you’ve done is filter down the preset list to those that use the algo that you’ve selected. You still have to choose a preset to load it into a slot- you can’t just choose a default form of the algorithm.

Not sure if I worded that well or not lol…

I’ve seen explanation from Eventide guys somewhere (maybe reddit).
What is default preset for a harmonizer, or flanger, or reverb? Ask ten people and you’ll get ten answers.
So, they intentionally don’t use init preset, users can use any preset as their starting point. At a cost of an additional step which I’d like to skip.

I think you’re correct. When loading on the pedal the algorithms aren’t in a particular order and sometimes repeat in the list because they seem to be attached to presets. When you choose an algorithm from the app, there is actually a default for each algorithm titled the same name as the algorithm.

Oh sure, we’re all looking for the proper balance of whatever. And workflow is relative.

I have analog versions of many effects but (to me) the algos are finally good enough that I’m considering getting rid of a few

Can you elaborate on what aspects you find “too digital”?

I do like a rawer, low bit digital sound and early Harmonizer algos, for whatever reason the modern UAD pedals I never got into. I liked the Ensoniq DP/4 but the programming (even with a 3rd party app) also didn’t click. I have not heard the latest platform/engine from Strymon but never really gelled with the previous sound in the Volante or Big Sky.

Anyway, curious since it’s fun to hear people describe timbre and helps me understand others’ experiential.

ok, I just updated the app, and apparently now you can select both default versions and presets of each algorithm directly from the Edit screen, without having to use the Preset Library tab. I swear I tried this before, and it didn’t open up a drop down menu like it does in the new app version (right at the top next to “A” and “B”)… but whatever- works as wished/expected now! Time to dig in…

Anyone here sharing / selling any patches outside of the popular Eventide patch library?

The only place I’ve seen patches being actively uploaded and shared is on Patch Storage. There’s some very useful stuff on there though.

User brock has the best presets and has done a lot of work for the H90 user preset community.

One of my favorites is the attempt at replicating the Lexicon Vortex, which I own, and he did a really good job.

I have all his presets on my H90 and heavily use/enjoy them.

I’m very exited to be getting the H90 next week
I must have seen every demo there is by now. Looking forward to get great spaces and good traditional effects and then there’s all the experimental stuff. I’ll try it with all my machines, both on synths, drums and the master bus.

I do however find it odd that there’s no dedicated granular algorithms. Hope Evetide will add that.

I absolutely love the H90. It sounds gorgeous and spacious. Here’s a video with a dub track from Digitone II running through the H90. So many musical possibilities with it.

Fantastic pedal, I’ve finally jumped into patch creation with the super easy app.

It’s a definite mainstay on my guitar board.

I should experiment with the vocal side of it. I’d totally consider a 2nd one for singing.

ie granular, have you seen Martin’s video by chance? (Uses Looper algorithm, so not exactly ‘dedicated’ granular algorithm.)

Oh yes the app is amazing and works like a charm. So very helpful when the pedal is so complex and it allows for fast and easy program making.

I did yes. Didn’t try the looper yet but it does sound granular. I’ve been using Ultra Tab which can come close and the pitch algorithms seems worth exploring for glitchy textures.

Still with a pedal like the Microcosm being so popular I think Eventide should add a live granular algorithm. I’ll try to email them and see what they say.

I think that the Timefactor (and so the H90) looper is still the best in the market.
