Errors occurred while saving the sample file already exists

I have the error file already exists but i have no doubles. I give them a new name and still file error file already exists. Whats wrong?

Surprising.
Is the buffer already saved ? (Already named)
Do you save several recordings at once ?

In Personalize menu, you can set Project folder instead of AUDIO to save files.

this what whanted to exclude by editing a new name, bu† it fails. The only what helped a new empty project. That is often, when creating the octatrack is always having card trouble or other things…

what else can i do wrong if the case is only saving a recorded sample. One sh of a recorded sample. What do you ask with buffer already saved or named. Exotic? I do no name buffers. what is that? How can i save several recordings at once? For what would this be good for? Exotic? I never do such things. I’m on a traditional way of recording a serum sample and saving it. And this does not work.

i know, but i save in AUDIO.

If you save ā€œTO SELFā€ vs FLEX or STATIC slots, buffers are named.

Could you make a video, make a list of minimum steps in order to reproduce it ?

ohh i love to make videos for sure i do videos…But in your case i do not save to self i save to a new free fresh flex slot. A video would be consume your time…and would not produce any further information. ohhhh i love to make videos…

There are two methods to save:

  1. AED ā€˜File’: Save and assign sample: Result: OT gives you a new timestamp name and returns errors occured while saving the sample ā€˜file already exists’.

  2. AED ā€˜Edit’: save selection as sample: you have to name it and its being saved in Audio, BUT when you read it (Load it) you get SAMPLE LOAD ERRORS.

all two methods are nice :-))))

Maybe my cf card is corrupt.

Not that much.
File Already Exists never happened to me…except with same name.

Not sure it would bring naming error…

Not OP but I had the same problem and figured it out.
In my case I didn’t have enough space on the CF card. I.e. the error message "octatrack errors occured while saving the sample! 'file already exists'" was misleading but I had another issue.
I resolved it by deleting some files from the CF card, to free up space, and after that I could save the next recording without errors.

I ran into this issue and found that if I save to a new project, I can save more samples again. I think this is likely an issue with the OS unable to handle a ā€œlargeā€ number of samples in one folder.
