I had the chance to try one (well, actually two) of these a couple of weeks ago and they are GREAT. really rich high-quality oscillators, the filter is beautiful, delay is fab, surprising amount of flexibility with the patching. The manual is AMAZING, incredible resource for someone who wants to learn analog synthesis. I won’t be buying one, but they fucking nailed the brief.

From the London Pedal and Synth Expo. Mainly about Bullfrog.

Girts is talking about the new sample playback plug in expansion card, as well as an organ voice card, an oscilloscope card, and a gesture controller card, as well as the original filter card. He talks about new developments, like an XL version of Bullfrog, that will be huge, and include things like a large oscilloscope, intended for classroom use by an instructor, but it might be fun in other ways too. Their are other new things coming along for this soon, likely at Superbooth.

Also in this video is a “deadly” black Perkons.

After selling a few devices i realized that i wanted to have a semi modular synth again. Nothing too complex but still interesting enough to allow me to discover different sides of it and noodle around for an hour or so.
The Bullfrog seemed right for the job and so i gave it a try. So far i really like it.

It has a quite a few limitations but the fun of tweaking the big smooth knobs and the great sound make up for it.
I especially like the sampler/looper voice card but here i’m exploring the highpass filter voice card:

I recorded a dark lofi ambient album with the Bullfrog, a radio and an Eventide Space. Haven’t had that much fun on one project for quite some time. But we all know how it goes, sometimes limitation breeds creativity.

Here i’m exploring the experimental side of the Bullfrog. Soundwise it’s nothing exceptional but a lot of different analog sounds to find in a compact little box.
