Thanks for the review… I was going to get it for my daughter for her birthday in august but it was delayed so that plan went out the window. Was thinking about Christmas but the price was a bit higher than I expected.

But that patch book sounds like a great idea, she loves going through those science kits and choosing projects to do together from the little book they come with. Maybe this would be a similar experience for her.

Anyone with the Bullfrog notice if their default frequency is abnormally high? When I patch a sine wave directly to the VCA, with the tune knob at 12:00 it is already almost beyond the top range of human hearing. When I turn the TUNE knob down all the way to where it’s marked 20Hz, it’s still relatively high, and no way is it anywhere near 20Hz. If I hook it up to a Keystep, I have to go down about 3-4 octaves in order to access a usable note range.

Any ideas?

Any chance a high midi note was played into it? I would be a bit surprised to hear it remembers that through power cycles but it is worth checking.

That is what Erica tech support suggested. But even if i play a low note and then power cycle it the tuning is abnormally high.

I had the chance to try one (well, actually two) of these a couple of weeks ago and they are GREAT. really rich high-quality oscillators, the filter is beautiful, delay is fab, surprising amount of flexibility with the patching. The manual is AMAZING, incredible resource for someone who wants to learn analog synthesis. I won’t be buying one, but they fucking nailed the brief.

From the London Pedal and Synth Expo. Mainly about Bullfrog.

Girts is talking about the new sample playback plug in expansion card, as well as an organ voice card, an oscilloscope card, and a gesture controller card, as well as the original filter card. He talks about new developments, like an XL version of Bullfrog, that will be huge, and include things like a large oscilloscope, intended for classroom use by an instructor, but it might be fun in other ways too. Their are other new things coming along for this soon, likely at Superbooth.

Also in this video is a “deadly” black Perkons.
