Hi everybody,
I just added a HD-01 to my collection and i must say that i’m impressed. Having all kinds of Roland, Moog and Elektron gear in my studio i can truely say that this is a great addition to the family. At least, that’s my opinion. It’s got it’s own sound and the ‘limitations’ makes it what it is and not something that tries to copy something else. In fact i prefer machines that have their limitatons mostly because it triggers & boosts my creativity.
I’ve read this whole topic & read the manual, but there are some small things i can’t figure out:
Is there a way to save Modulation settings per kit?
Is there a way to latch shift when using ‘shift/crtl-all’?
Is there a way to save a certain state (read Kit) while in ‘shift/crtl-all’? I’ve run is some happy accidents that would be more than worth saving as variations on the Kit or as a new one.
What really is the use of the LFO and Mod Depth in de BBD section?
Is there a way to merge kits so you can combine certain voices with each other?
whilst still holding shift and doing all your ctrl-all stuff, if you don’t want to jump back to how it sounded before, just momentarily tap record then let go of shift and it’ll hold those new values. if you want to save that as a kit, open kit, hold record and hit a new blank kit/preset button. you can then revert back to whatever your old kit was if you had saved that before doing your ctrl-all stuff. Make sense?
Maybe i can add some flavour to your workflow:
When setting Wave to Sine, Modulation between 7-8 and Mod LVL on 5, you can add some really great wobble to one or more of your voices. I’ve used it on Voice 1 resulting in a great Wobbly Bass.
the polyphony thing is interesting, I don’t quite get what’s going on with that, but made me wonder if that’s something that might come to the OG Perkons?
I guess plugging a midi keyboard into a perkons, holding a trig and playing a chord, or well, guess playing chords on midi input could be a neat polyphonic bonus for a single channel on it, who knows huh?
I’m not ruling it out that I’ll combine several in a case. Obviously a lot of what makes perkons awesome is its sequencer and hands on capabilities but oxi + several voices has a lot of capabilities as well
Didn’t realise that little Perkons voice was polyphonic. I assumed it was a single mono voice. That makes it a very capable teeny-tiny 4 voice Perkons. That’s really really cool!
You could do some cool stuff utilising that decay cutoff from the four voice limit etc.
