Before buying, confirm with the seller that the PLG board is present. There was a time when sellers were pulling the PLG boards out of AN200s and DX200s to sell separately.
PO-32 Pocket operator has morphing per sound.
Microtinic the VST which is also the PO-32 editor, has morphing per drum kit.
Not only can you morph from one set of parameters to another via velocity, but at least on the Nordlead 2 you can morph with the mod wheel as well. This is a feature that I haven’t used enough and should really get on top of.
Nice, can you explain how to do that?
Zynaptiq Morph 3 for spectral morphing - vst plugin. this one is really good at that, has a certain spectral sound but many different blend modes, very cool sound design tool. it blends two audio sources together and even has a built in thing that adds some granular/sample scanning capabilities.
for max for live theres a free device called “gradient”, it allows you to map parameters to a 2D map and then morph between different states - simple concept but produces some insane things.
theres also a max one called corperous concativus - Corperous Concativus v2.0
also free and not classical morphing, but you can drop a folder into it and it orders the sample by similarity and you can scrub through them in a granular fashion - sounds a bit like morphing and very cool! only works in ableton 11 tho right now
already been mentioned, but reaktor also has native preset morphing which is cool, and theres a reaktor device called Skanner XT which also has some very interesting morph functionalities in a sampler.
theres also a couple other max devices that do this like CROS, MorphXY and some others that do signal combining, but they all more or less sound like a lower quality zynaptiq Morph, but are much cheaper. if youre interested in that i can find some links, i know i have tons of them in my max collection
hardware wise as already mentioned melbourne instruments nina/delia are super fun. i kinda want one of them.
Modx, modx+, Montage are able to morph/transition quite well !
MPC and Maschine (since ages) can morph between settings - i.e. macro knobs, turn multiple dials from different tracks at once. Force can do it also. Maschine can also send midi macro control messages, not sure if Akai can do that, but have not yet tested OS3.0 to its full extend.
Waldorf Iridium can morph two layers.
Nord G1 (including Micro Modular) has morph groups/controls.
Lots of morphing control options in the Eurorack world - Jasmine & Olive Trees’ Traffic is a popular newer choice.
The IME mk3 modules all have built in preset morphing capabilities. Can vouch for it being ridiculous on Kermit (where it can be 4 morphing LFOs, envelopes, oscillators, and/or a couple other things). Very cool on Bionic Lester as well.
Of the options already mentioned, I think the macros on the A4 are the nicest, but it’s absurd what you can do with the macros and mod matrix on the Hydrasynth. Even just as a MIDI/CV controller, it’s bonkers.
