It’s esoteric and insane and kinda difficult but when it’s firing there’s nothing like it. Love it!
Did anyone find a way to latch / hold in the poly mode? I tried to feed an open gate into the TRIG input in AR mode, but it doesn’t work. I need both hands for modulation
holy shit that would be an amazing combo
unfortunately not, I usually use the swarm as a looping synth.
Just received my Swarm and I love it so far. It’s my first foray into semi-modular / patching and whatnot and it’s a little overwhelming at times. I have it running in sync via midi with my other gear, all of which is sequenced by a Torso T-1 and that works great.
I’d very much like to sync the Swarms LFO to tempo, how would I achieve that?
Cheers
As I understand it is not possible to sync the LFO to tempo ( you can send synced external LFO, maybe from Torso?)
Aaah right, thanks! Not sure how I’d achieve that but I’ll give it a go!
yeah the LFO is a strange one, running independently. its great if you open the envelope decay/release and use the square out to reset the clock
Hello fellow ‘nauts!
I am trying to sync clock with Syntakt as master over QS. I’ve tried powering up while holding shift, illuminating the 8th step on QS, but no go. I can trigger midi notes, just can’t get the clock synced.
Help please! Thank you:)
I don’t know if you already did but after illuminating step 8 you have to hit start to confirm.
And the clock knob has to be set around 12:00 i think.
I’m trying this but still nada:
Clock and transport are set to out from Syntakt. I power on the QS holding down shift, and press button 8 illuminating it. The clock is set to 12, and the QS is receiving the clock via the “clock” (not clock out).
Let’s figure this out
Somehow it just clicked when I switched to a new pattern on Syntakt! Let the jamming commence🤖
Its proper jam on toast. Sometimes I get nothing but unusable nonsense out of it but then one tiny tweak more and its straight into jacking techno funk. No idea what I’m doing but couldn’t care less!
Same
Get some pretty varied sounds from it, here’s a few patches with some rudimentary drums
then what it seems to like doing best
So, did you finally find how to use external lfo? are you sequencing with the Tracker?
I didn’t. It responds to all the midi stuff the T-1 can chuck at it though so i’m kinda happy with that
I just “discovered” that instead of sending it CV or Midi clock, I could advance the steps in the Swarm sequencer by sending trigger pulses from a track in my Erica Synths Drum Sequencer. This allows to stay in time while varying the length and pattern of the Swarm steps, changing the length of the sequence, adding shuffle, another time signature, etc. in addition to sending it retrigs from another Drum Sequencer track. (Probably not so new for you, but this opens up the Swarm quite a bit for me.)
The pattern reset input is very useful too for adding variation.
I used to run a separate sequence on my beatsteppro for this. Was good.
